This section aims to teach students how poor respiratory hygiene can lead to the spread of microbes and disease. Did you know that microbes can travel up to 1m in a single sneeze!

Students observe on a large scale how far microbes are carried when they sneeze and how many people can be effected. Through a set of trial experiments, students learn that covering your mouth with a tissue when you cough and sneeze helps prevent the spread of infection.

The extension activity asks students to consider how far a virus can spread in 1 week. The results can be astounding!
