Sentence structure stimulus

First we looked at the powerpoint. Paired talk to think of an interesting sentence about the picture, each time making sure it makes sense, celebrating any use of adjectives etc. Then the pictures on the other sheet were cut up and placed in baskets on tables and children selected a picture, stuck it in their books and wrote a sentence underneath. My Year 1s produced more writing than ever as they kept wanting to do more pictures, stimulated by their paired discussions.
