Spooky Litter-Pick Bingo – CleanupUK

Make litter-picking spooktacular with this free Spooky Litter-Pick Bingo activity, encouraging children to care for their local environment.

Download our free Spooky Litter-Pick Bingo activity to bring a Halloween twist to environmental education and encourage children to help keep their surroundings clean.

This seasonal resource makes learning about litter prevention more interactive by turning environmental awareness into a fun bingo-style challenge. It can help children look more carefully at their surroundings, recognise litter and think about how small actions can make a positive difference to their local environment.

Use the activity as part of a Halloween-themed lesson, an outdoor learning session or a supervised school litter-picking event. It offers a playful way to introduce discussions about waste, responsible behaviour and the importance of looking after shared spaces.

Learning opportunities include:

• Raising awareness of litter and its impact on the environment.

• Encouraging children to notice their surroundings and identify litter.

• Promoting teamwork, cooperation and active participation.

• Introducing responsible waste disposal and litter prevention.

• Making environmental education engaging through seasonal play.

For a practical extension, organise a supervised litter pick in the school grounds or another suitable area. Provide appropriate equipment, explain safe litter-picking rules and ensure children do not touch sharp, hazardous or unknown items. Adults should handle any potentially dangerous waste.

This activity is ideal for schools looking to combine Halloween fun with positive environmental action and outdoor learning.
