Based on the classic story 'The Wise Robin', this Ladybird classic is a lovely story that can be used to teach literacy, numeracy, arts and crafts, PHSE, RE etc. The text encourages thoughts about what is really important at Christmas, work on parts of speech, use of more interesting verbs; prediction; description and so on. The images and text are courtesy of Ladybird and I thank them for a wonderful story that is enjoyed by both my own children and children in class (and by me!) Also included is a numeracy, literacy, art & craft resource pack to accompany the story.
Resources for:
arts and crafts;
writing a 'My Christmas Wish' piece;
worms to play a hand/eye co-ordination game;
numeracy sheets to add and subtract robins and to add and subtract presents;
a Christmas tree to decorate for display;
snowmen to put in size order;
comprehension question to check understanding and
differentiated wordsearches in both upper and lower case.
*New* Instructions and a template for making a Christmas tree-shaped card
Lots of festive fun!
I hope you find it useful.
