Download our free Tree Leaves Colouring Sheet to help children explore trees, discover the variety of leaf shapes and colours, and celebrate the natural world through a creative activity.

This accessible colouring resource is ideal for introducing seasonal changes and encouraging children to take a closer look at the trees around them. It can be used as part of an autumn topic, a science lesson, an outdoor learning session or a nature-themed classroom activity.

As children colour the leaves, encourage them to think about why leaves change colour, how trees change throughout the year and why trees are important to people and wildlife. The activity can also introduce wider conversations about protecting green spaces and caring for the environment.

• Learning opportunities include:

• Exploring trees, leaves and seasonal changes.

• Encouraging observation and curiosity about nature.

• Developing creativity, concentration and fine motor skills.

• Introducing the importance of trees as habitats for wildlife.

• Promoting an appreciation of the natural environment.

For an extension activity, take children on a supervised nature walk to observe the different trees and leaves in their school grounds. They could compare leaf shapes and colours, create a seasonal display or draw pictures of the wildlife that depends on trees.

This resource is suitable for primary school classrooms, nature clubs and autumn-themed learning activities, providing a simple way to combine creativity with environmental education.
