6 week writing unit based on the novel: Oliver Twist.
Weeks 1-2 Story opening. Children write the opening to Oliver Twist based on the opening of the movie. Grammar warm-ups and model texts are included.
Weeks 3-4 Character in a narrative. Children write a character description of Fagin. Grammar warm-ups and model texts are included.
Weeks 5-6 Balanced argument. Children write a balanced argument on whether Fagin is a friend or foe. Children investigate the different opinions given by main characters and write their own argument on Fagin’s motives.
