A PowerPoint about the irregular verbs covered in the seasons and activities section of Echo 2, including:
A verb table; Richtig/falsch exercise; Gap fill; Noughts and crosses; Battleships - for pupils to play in pairs; A crossword is also included.
I made these as a wall display. They are colour coded and contain the endings for -ar, -er and -ir verbs in the following tenses: present, preterit, imperfect, future, conditonal, pres subjunctive, imp subjunctive
Writine frames - a sheet you can give your students to aid them to put a text together. There are some various ones here - past tense, present tense, future tense on holiday, and opinions The future one also shows how to make conditional sentences (in red and bold)
Shows that pop songs use language for effect.
Listen to the song (youtube) and ask pupils to listen out for poetic devices, then hand out the lyrics, ask them to highlight them on the sheet. Then ask them to create their own examples of poetic devices for fireworks.
This is a complete one-hour lesson based around the chapter in Unit 4 of Echo Express 1 "Wie oft spielst du Fussball?"
Activities to introduce language
To encourage pupils to develop their writing and verbal work with complex language, put these posters up in your room! Colour-coded and available in one convenient place in 3 languages, this will certainly encourage students to manipulate more complex sentence starters - each poster has alternative verbs to use!
This is a complete one-hour lesson to work with the section in Unit 4 of Echo Express 1 called "Möchtest du ins Kino gehen?", but of course can be used along side any other KS3 German textbook.
