An amazing, engaging resource to be used as part of the 1.0 Water Topic or as a stand a lone activity.

Students get hands on investigating the properties of water through a variety of activities.

Includes:

  1. A Power Point that can be printed to create instructions for each station
  2. Student note sheet to be filled in as they go round each station
  3. A teacher note sheet with instructions and a list of resources

This resource is designed and created to teach the following SNAB spec points:

1.2 Explain the importance of water as a solvent in transport, including its dipole nature.

However, activities and resources can be adapted for different exam boards and specifications.

Content includes:

  • The chemistry of water (Dipole nature of water)
  • Hydrogen bonding
  • Properties of water as a result of hydrogen bonding
  • Links to real life examples in Biology - why is water important to living organisms?
