Welcome to the very first episode of Word of the Week!

I have started this exciting series with the word PANOPLY, a dazzling way to describe an amazing display or collection of things. We will explore its meaning, where it comes from, and how you can use it to make your writing sparkle.

Why this series?

I am starting Word of the Week because words are magical: the more we know, the more powerfully we can express our thoughts, feelings, and stories. For kids, learning ambitious vocabulary makes writing richer and more exciting. For teachers, it is a quick, ready-to-use tool that builds confidence and helps students describe settings, emotions, and characters more vividly. And along the way, I am learning new words too, so grown-ups can join in!

New episodes drop every Sunday, ready for teachers to use in class on Monday mornings!

Teachers, please share the best sentences from your students in the comments on You Tube, I would love to share them in future videos.
