A wordsearch for Year 7-9 using keywords from the biomedical science profession as the key words to find. This can be used to link your current biology topic to careers, helping meet Gatsby Benchmark 4: Careers in the Curriculum.

Biomedical scientists conduct laboratory and scientific tests to support the diagnosis and treatment of disease. They are critical to the running of healthcare science laboratories, A&E, operating theatres, many other hospital departments and NHS Blood and Transplant services. They are mostly based in a laboratory, investigating a wide range of medical conditions from blood disorders and cancer to hepatitis and meningitis. They screen for diseases and help identify diseases caused by bacteria and viruses, while monitoring the effects of medication and other treatments.

The wordsearch includes common laboratory terms, which will have been used in lessons already, as well as including more specialist terminology that is more linked to biomedical science. It will start to show to students how terminology and techniques they are learning about are utilised in the real world.

The key words included are:
