Created for the centenary period of the World War I (WWI), Operation Ouch encourages pupils (aged 7–11) to understand, conceptualise and reflect on the impact of armed conflict from a humanitarian perspective.

The resource links to a special episode of CBBC’s Operation Ouch in which twin doctors turn back time to study historical facts and explore what medicine practice was like during WWI.

Learners will:

  • gain an understanding of the history of WWI
  • compare and contrast the past and present
  • express their thoughts and feelings
  • apply their learning to physical and emotional health and wellbeing.
