A 3 part story to go with each poem from the Power and Conflict Anthology for Lit. Paper 2 AQA. I have yet to find a student who can forgot the one for Kamikaze! I usually split the poems into three umbrella terms under Power and Conflict; The Reality of War, Internal Conflict and the Power of Nature, which are colour coded.
Three funny/memorable parts of a story relate to three chronological quotations from within the poems. Students can add to these if they wish, but a great starting point to revise and remember 45 quotations.
I also have the accompanying wall display up in my classroom with just the pictures on show, tacked at the top only over the quotations so students can lift them up to test themselves. Any words/phrases that are underlined are either word/lit. choices for the students to explore and have all been carefully selected so there are some in there.
