Here is all of the planning and resources I produced for an Explanation Texts topic for a Year 4 class.
The theme is Wallace and Gromit's Cracking Contraptions. Children invent their own machine then explain how it works.
Includes a letter from Wallace as an introduction and inventor cards to wear or carry.
EDIT: The 'Shark Text' as mentioned was changed in late stages to being the Teacher Pleaser Machine by Pie Corbett
EDIT October 2020 - So pleased that this resource is still being used by people. By popular demand, I have converted the .notebook files to PPT files. Apologies if any data doesn't go across properly, but it's the best I can do.
EDIT March 2022 - W&G are still going strong, almost ten years after I first made this resource! Some people are having issues with the PPT conversions - no idea why they're not downloading as they're in the file list. I've tried to re-upload them, but as they use flash, they're a little out of date now. Most of the videos in question can be located on youtube now.

Hi! I've used this previously and would love to do it again with my class but I'm unable to access the files as a PPT. Any help here at all? It's a really great idea. ;)
