The very hungry caterpillar story - Very Hungry Caterpillar Activity - Days of the Week

(0)
This resource is a hands-on, cut-and-paste activity designed to help preschoolers and young children reinforce learning from the story, “The Very Hungry Caterpillar” by Eric Carle. Key Learning Objectives Days of the Week: Children will practice sequencing and memorizing the days of the week (Monday through Sunday) in order. Story Recall: It helps children memorize the specific foods the caterpillar ate each day, connecting the story events to the correct day. Fine Motor Skills: The activity significantly develops fine-motor skills through cutting out the circular templates and carefully gluing the food items onto the correct day’s spot. How the Resource Works The pack includes a central template (often circular or linear) representing the days of the week and separate printable sheets of the foods from the book (e.g., apples, pears, plums, cake, etc.). Children will: Cut out the different food pictures. Match and Glue each food item onto the corresponding day of the week, following the caterpillar’s eating schedule. This provides an engaging, tactile way to combine literacy, sequencing, and practical skills.
