Welcome to the Hadley Learning Community
Hadley Learning Community is an all-through school for students from 3 – 16 years of age located in the community of Hadley in central Telford. We have a fantastic 21st Century Learning campus, with outstanding learning facilities, which was purpose built to serve our community. The school opened on the 1st September 2006 and is a £70 million PFI project, in partnership with Interserve, which represents a major investment by the Borough of Telford and Wrekin Council. Interserve provides all of our facilities management on site and work closely with us every day to maintain a high quality environment for our students, staff and community.

Values and vision
Our students will walk through the door of their school, where everyone belongs, with pride. Our children, families and wider community will know that we support them as we are rooted in all aspects of local life. We believe that our school can only be as strong as the community we serve and, as a result, we know that our school is responsible for providing the foundations for our community to thrive.
Our students will appreciate the importance of their education and respect those within their school environment, and beyond, who strive to nurture each and every one to be the best that they can be. Our children will recognise the importance of being well-mannered and polite individuals who have the confidence and self-assurance to represent themselves, and their school, with credit.
Our staff will instil a drive and ambition that inspires every child to fulfil their potential. We will create opportunities for lifelong learning ensuring that their time within our classrooms is only the beginning of their journey. Our students will be equipped with a love of learning that will provide them with the skills to contribute to their world whether it be locally, nationally or globally.
Our students will be confident in the knowledge that our staff will do everything within their power to ensure they succeed. Our students will understand that they need to work hard, be resilient and driven in their approach to their studies. We will embrace a ‘can do culture’, which will encourage us to learn from our mistakes and develop an understanding that by supporting each other anything is possible. Our vision is to provide our students with an exciting curriculum and linked opportunities that inspire them to charge at barriers that might stand in their way to fulfilling their goals. We will mould our young peoples’ lives through the arts, sports, STEM and hundreds of other initiatives giving them the tools to flourish.
We will stand by our belief that as a school we can transform a community to understand that education is the most valuable gift anyone can offer you. We will believe in our students and promise to give them the opportunities they dream of. We will shape happy, young people who relish learning in a safe environment. We will all call our school our own and be proud to be a part of the HLC family.
We will inspire our students to respect themselves, others and the environment in which they belong, allowing them to succeed through the enjoyment of learning.

Ofsted report
Our most recent OFSTED inspection being graded as ‘good plus’ (June 2022). Key findings include: “Leaders are acutely aware of staff well-being and workload. The vast majority of staff feel well supported both personally and professionally. Staff appreciate the time they are given to work together in departments to plan and evaluate the curriculum. Staff are highly supportive of leaders and are proud to work at the school.”
“There is a calm and orderly environment. Pupils are polite and respectful to staff and visitors. Bullying is extremely rare and pupils have full confidence in staff to deal with any issues that arise.” “Teachers have high expectations for pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND).”
We are incredibly proud of our school and the huge impact it has upon our children and families. At HLC, we care for each and every one of our children, we share in their endeavour to fulfil their dreams and ambitions and strive to give each and every student a genuine thirst for learning.
