About Harlington Upper School
Harlington Upper School has a long tradition of academic excellence and is the highest performing upper school in Bedfordshire in 2017, 2018 and 2019. Exam results in 2019 were again excellent with a superb 75% of all students gaining Grade 9 – 4 in both English and Maths.
Our most able students performed amazingly well in their GCSE’s with 57% of students gaining English and Maths GCSE at grade 9-5. Our Progress8 score was 0.18.
We know there is more to a successful education than exam results. Our extra-curricular sport, music and performing arts are second to none and our unique ‘community’ atmosphere is the basis of our excellence.
The school received an Ofsted inspection on 15 March 2018; the first since 2013. We were delighted to receive a very positive report which confirmed Harlington continues to be a “good” school and that students make strong progress in all areas.
We have a unique location in Mid Bedfordshire. We are placed in the heart of a rural environment, surrounded by large scale agricultural farming, yet most of the population has strong urban links, with proximity to the developing Milton Keynes area, being one mile from junction 12 of the M1, and by having a train station with commuter routes to London and the Midlands.
