About Manningtree High School
Manningtree High School is a special place with a welcoming atmosphere and a friendly feel. We believe that children achieve their best when they are happy, safe and well know by their teachers and the other adults who work at the school. 850 students from 11-16 means that Manningtree High School, being smaller than most other secondary schools, is very well placed to know the students and how to help them achieve their best.
Students are strong advocates of the school. They take up many leadership opportunities and make significant contributions within the school.
Teachers create a good atmosphere for learning. The relationships between teachers and students are strong.
The school has taken very successful actions to ensure that the students are proud to be part of the school. One student stated, ‘The school cares about you.’
Students’ behaviour in and around the school is good. They feel safe. Students are very polite and courteous to one another and toward staff and visitors.
The curriculum is wide in scope in a manner that enriches the lives of the students and strengthens their spiritual, moral, social and cultural development.
Progress across the school is good.
The school works well in local partnership within a consortium.
One of our external recognitions has been for our international work. We have links with schools in China, The Gambia and Namibia with further work planned. The students are travelling to Morocco in 2015.
