About Outwood Academy Ripon

Chief Executive Officer: Martyn Oliver

Principal: Mr William Pratt

We are an Outstanding rated 11-16 academy based in the cathedral city of Ripon.

We aim to promote the highest standards of academic achievement through inspiring teaching and learning, with a curriculum designed to stretch and enrich our students’ experience.

Our Progress 8 score is one of the highest in North Yorkshire, and we are nationally recognised for our progress and attainment in Maths.

Put simply, we take pride in serving the local community, ensuring everyone has a right to learn.

Despite being Outstanding, we are constantly looking at ways to improve and we want you to help to take us to the next level.

To help you do that, we work hard to ensure we reduce workload on our colleagues, allowing more time in the classroom to put our vision of students first, raising standards and transforming lives into practice.

We will also actively invest in your future through working closely with the Outwood Institute of Education to offer access to a wide range of CPD opportunities, with all staff receiving a minimum of two hours’ CPD each week.

We also offer a generous employment package with a whole host of staff benefits, including a health cash plan, a cycle to work scheme, plus a partnership with car leasing company, Synergy, with offers exclusively for Outwood colleagues.

What people say about us

We want to transform the life-chances of our children by focussing on raising standards, particularly the basic life skills of literacy and numeracy as well as employability skills so that our students have the best possible start in life.
