Our festive resource “An unexpected guest at Christmas” is based on the beloved John Lewis Christmas advert to help infuse learning with the magic and charm of the holiday season. It is designed to engage and inspire learners in writing their own Christmas narratives while developing essential language skills, with a focus on alliteration, subordinate clauses, and descriptive vocabulary.

It includes a five-day PowerPoint presentation that uses colourful semantics to help improve learners sentence structure. These lessons help to encourage learners to explore their imagination while incorporating thoughts and feelings into their writing, creating memorable descriptions to capture the holiday spirit. With model answers provided, teachers can save time while still providing valuable guidance to their learners.
