Free, ready-to-use: exactly where AI is banned and where it’s allowed in the T Level Digital Software Development. One page for teachers, one for students.
The 2025 Pearson Digital Software Development T Level uses opposite AI rules in its two main assessments, and it’s easy to get wrong:
The core project (ESP): AI is banned in all tasks.
The specialism project: AI is allowed, but only as a helper, and must be declared.
Mix them up and students risk disqualification for malpractice, or under-use a tool they’re expected to use. Even official briefings have blurred this line.
What’s included (2 pages, PDF)
A teacher reference page: the AI map, the golden rule, and a “helper vs solution” comparison.
A student guide page: the same rules in plain language, with a pre-handing-in self-check.
Print-and-go, no prep needed.
Written around the underlying principle so it stays accurate as Pearson releases further Generation 2 materials. Always check exact task details against the current Pearson specification for your cohort.
If this helps, a rating or review is genuinely appreciated, it helps other teachers find it.
Suitable for: T Level Digital Software Development teachers, heads of computing/digital, exams officers, and students (Level 3).
