AQA English Language - Paper 1- Question 5.

This resource tackles the notion of how candidates use effective vocabulary for description. The presentation and lesson carefully leads candidates through basic word classification and functions through to uses of figurative expression and how sentence construction can support meaning and improve examiner awards.

The whole lesson tries to get candidates to describe in a way which involves creating a sense of place and a sense of atmosphere through noun phrases -premodifiers - adjectival phrases.

Candidates are given a timed response with an opportunity to demonstrate learned skills used throughout the lesson.
