BTEC AAQ Early Childhood Development - Unit 4 (Bundle)

Everything you need to teach the complete Unit 4 of the new AAQ in Early Childhood Development!

This full-unit bundle combines all three teaching packs and provides a complete 32-lesson sequence for Unit 4: Research and Reflective Practice in an Early Childhood Setting.

The bundle covers all four learning aims:

● B1: Informing the development of legislation, policy and practice
● B2: Improving outcomes for children, parents and carers

The complete sequence includes:

● Aim B: B.P3, B.P4, B.M2, B.M3 and B.D2
● Aims C/D: C.P5, D.P6, C.M4, D.M5 and CD.D3

Topics include primary and secondary information, quantitative and qualitative data, reliable research sources, analysis of secondary data, research-informed legislation and policy, professional practice, access to provision, outcomes for children and families, gaps in provision, reflective practice, continuous quality improvement, values and bias, critical thinking, collaborative reflection, and the reflective theories of Schön, Gibbs and Kolb.

Materials supplied

• Three Home-Learning Booklets: short introductory and consolidation tasks for each section of the unit. Activities progressively develop students’ research, application, analysis, evaluation and reflective-thinking skills.
• PowerPoint for every lesson: the main delivery structure, including learning objectives, taught content, examples, discussion questions, activity instructions, checks for understanding, key terminology, plenaries and explicit PSA links.
• Student Resource for every lesson: a stand-alone printable resource containing everything students need to complete the activities referenced in the matching PowerPoint.
• Student Guidance for all three PSA tasks: criterion-linked guidance to help students understand the requirements of each task, organise their evidence and prepare to work independently under the required assessment conditions.
• Staff Marking Guidance for all three PSA tasks: positive evidence-to-look-for tick lists covering every Pass, Merit and Distinction criterion across the unit.

The three packs use a consistent structure and a continuing Riverside Early Learning and Family Centre case study, helping students apply their learning progressively across the unit before completing their independent PSA work.
