Chalk Charcoal Human Figure (Terence Stevens-Prior 'The Fractured Darkness of Man IV')

This piece is meant to show the dark side of man which should be commented on. Get children to come up with their own names for the piece. Children learn mostly how to use chalk and charcoal as well as looking at the human figure. Instructions are provided that can be edited. Using shapes to form the human figure is advised. A life model could be used for this. If not working from the original or creating different poses from imagination could also work. Using masking tape BEFORE drawing and taking it off after is a great technique to model (or just press hard with a rubber after). The examples should be displayed as a guide but do model it yourself as well.
