A 5-lesson writing unit inspired by ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’ by Roald Dahl. In this unit, pupils will be able to write a diary entry from the perspective of Charlie Bucket when he receives a chocolate bar for his birthday.

PACK FOLLOWS THE FORMAT:

  • Monday - Look at grammatical features of a diary entry and identify them in a model text
  • Tuesday - Plan the diary entry
  • Wednesday & Thursday - a short grammar starter, a review of the model text, a shared write using the provided WAGOLL, independent writing and editing and improving using the CUPS method
  • Friday - Editing & Improving
