Poster for checking students understanding. Students show three fingers if they understand (what to do or a topic), two if they're not sure and one if they don&'t understand. I use this strategy with students aged 11-16 and it works well to show which students need help first. In response to the comment: I ask students who are a three to explain their understanding, then ask students to show their fingers again. Then I give two&';s a help sheet and target one's with teacher support.

Hi does it mean that if you ask a pupil to show one, two or three fingers, it is to be assumed that they fully understand, partly understand or not at all? What does the teacher do next as he or she observes the tally? I would like to hear more! thank you
