When Covid 19 restricted the travel possibilities of Australians there were calls for potential travellers to “think Australian”. Then there were covid outbreaks in some states which closed borders. South Australian borders were closed to Victoria, New South Wales and Western Australia at various times. “Think South Australia” was promoted by South Australian tourist operators. This brought into focus the area of this coastal study. This coastal area increased in popularity. Connected businesses were delighted. Those concerned about the impact of increasing numbers on the coastal environment (beaches, cliffs, offshore islands, dune fields and wetlands) recognised the need to affirm management. Take your students (by map, photographs and description) into this coastal area. As each area is reached understand the management needs. Be educated by the notice boards. Understand the need to restrict and in some cases prohibit human presence. Use the attachments to promote class discussion and/or individual activty responses. Broaden understanding by covering the research activity. There is a great deal to see and a great deal to learn.
