This activity will give your students lots of practice at counting between 1 and 20 as they collect natural items and explore the outdoors. It’s a great way to use concrete resources to support the learning of number recognition and counting.

Simply print off the cards (either on card or laminate the paper) and place them around your outdoor space. Your students can then go around and pile the correct amount of items on top of each card.

Each card shows a picture of an item as well as a number which indicates how many they need to collect and leave on top of the card.
