I created this PPT as my students were struggling with recalling quotes from the anthology.
I found four different exam style questions and decided to make this task. It helps them to think on their feet when choosing a poem to compare theirs to, to see examples of questions that they could get in their exam and also tests them on whether they can recall quotes under pressure.
I asked them to do the following:
- Read the exam question and think of a poem that you can compare this poem to.
- Write down why you would use this poem as a comparison.
- Read the question again and write down one quote you would use in your response when comparing these poems.
