Giants of Sport

Presentation designed for potential use as a starter or a plenary activity in KS3/4 PE. There is also the potential to be used as providing meaningful work for a “classroom” lesson. For maximum effect presentation should be used on an interactive board or large screen display. The activity has been used successfully in a tutorial session and as a springboard to a PSHE activity. The whole presentation contains 21 slides. This presentation contains 10 challenges.Each challenge requires the pupils to identify, from given clues, a significant figure from world sport.
The clues are also hierarchical, in that the first clue may be an obscure fact about the person, the second clue less obscure information and so on. Pupils are encouraged to use sporting knowledge and deductive reasoning skills to identify the person
