Learning about Wudu

Wudu (ablution) is a ritual purification in Islam that Muslims perform before the five daily prayers and certain other acts of worship. It symbolizes both physical cleanliness and spiritual purity, helping a person prepare to stand before Allah in prayer.

Why is wudu important?

• It is required before performing salah (prayer), unless a person already has a valid wudu.
• It promotes cleanliness and hygiene.
• It reminds Muslims to approach worship with sincerity and purity.

Steps of wudu

1. Make the intention (niyyah) in your heart.
2. Say "Bismillah."
3. Wash both hands three times.
4. Rinse the mouth three times.
5. Rinse the nose three times.
6. Wash the face three times.
7. Wash the right arm, then the left, up to the elbows three times each.
8. Wipe the head once with wet hands.
9. Wipe the ears once.
10. Wash the right foot, then the left, including the ankles, three times each.
