This resource contains a set of diary entry model texts written from Macbeth’s perspective, designed for Year 5/6 pupils.
The texts provide examples of writing across different levels of attainment, allowing all students to access the material.
The pack includes four versions:
- Greater Depth (GDS): More complex vocabulary, varied sentence structures, figurative language, and deeper character reflection.
- At the Expected Standard (ARE): Clear paragraphs, descriptive language, varied sentence starters, and cohesive writing.
- Working Towards ARE: Simplified sentences and clear ideas to support developing writers.
- Basic/SEN: Highly accessible language and structure, enabling all pupils to engage with the story.
All model texts are fully editable.
These texts can be used to explore character perspective, plan writing or support guided and independent literacy work.
Additional information: The font used in the model texts is Playwrite, a freely available open-source Google font.
