Worksheet aimed at GCSE students looking at how to make an insoluble salt from two soluble salts by precipitation.

Designed for students to fill in after watching a demonstration of lead(II) iodide being made from lead(II) nitrate and sodium iodide solutions, separated from the sodium nitrate solution by filtration, then washed with distilled water and dried with filter paper. Includes table of solubility rules.

Includes spaces to draw diagrams/describe each step in the method, a chemical equation to fill in, and an exercise applying what they have learnt to the preparation of silver chloride.
