This research activity requires students to compare the features of two similar medieval weapons - The Anglo-Saxon longbow and the Norman crossbow. As part of their research students will investigate the reasons why the longbow became the standard weapon of choice for English archers and how it allowed the English to dominate the One Hundred Year War.
