2D Shapes, Angles
Key Stage: 2 ★★★

On which boards can you draw an isosceles right angled triangle? Do you notice a pattern? What about for other types of triangles?

This activity encourages children to explore the angles and relative lengths of sides of different triangles that can be made on pinboards. All the angles can be worked out using angles at the centre of a circle and the fact that the three angles in a triangle sum to 180 degrees. No more complex geometric knowledge is required.

A good resource to push those high ability children further with work on peg boards. Suitable for extending lower/mid KS2 children. Thanks.
