Paint it Yellow - Poetry Appreciation - A Sonnet

A mother remembers her daughter’s first day at school. Students use cloze procedure followed by questions to help them examine metaphors, the poet’s voice, the imagery of colours and the sonnet form. They are encouraged to attempt writing a sonnet themselves. Items include a lesson plan, a teacher’s answer sheet, students’ work sheet plus a Power Point.
