Physics calculations scaffolding strips

This simple resource takes students through the step- by- step procedure of completing a calculation in physics.

There is space to do an example together followed by space for students to complete their own. The resource works well on a whiteboard or under a visualiser for teachers to write on in front of the class.

The last page shows the scaffolding is a strip to be cut and glued in the margin of an exercise book for students to work alongside.

Eventually, the scaffold can be taken away altogether.

This is an area where there is often a wide range of ability. The scaffolding strips allow for students to work at their own pace but also to build their confidence and independence.
