Printable adaptive teaching tool for students who aren’t able to recall squares, cubes, etc. or their equivalent roots. This powers grid allows them to look up exponents, or reverse the process to find various roots, without a calculator. This makes various parts of the curriculum accessible for those with SEN aspects which lead to poor recall of powers and roots.

Avoiding the calculator but providing an accessibility tool means that non-calculator methods can be used for the rest of the surrounding procedure, some aspects of the concept are retained, and over time the use of the grid can contribute to building the missing familiarity.

Typical uses might be questions like:

  • A cube has a volume of 27cm^3, find the side length
  • A square has a side length of 14cm, find its area
