This is a 29 (hour long) lesson scheme of work for Private Peaceful. Not only are there lessons to follow along with reading the novel, there are also additional war themed lessons to work on both language and literature skills. I used this scheme for Year 8, spanning over two terms. But it could easily be adapted for other year groups.
