Why was Rasputin so influential in Tsarist Russia? is a fully resourced KS3 History lesson exploring the rise of Grigori Rasputin and his influence over Tsar Nicholas II and the Romanov family. Students investigate how Rasputin gained power, analyse contrasting historical interpretations of his role, and evaluate whether he was a saint, a sinner or simply a convenient scapegoat for Russia’s growing problems.
