A reading log designed to support independent research and deepen students’ engagement with non-fiction texts. It encourages students to explore specific topics in a structured way, developing their ability to locate, select, and interpret information from a range of non-fiction sources.
Through regular entries, students will learn how to navigate non-fiction books effectively, including using contents pages, indexes, headings, and subheadings to find relevant information. They will also practise summarising key ideas, identifying important facts, and recording new vocabulary or concepts.
The aim is to build confidence in independent learning, strengthen research skills, and foster curiosity about targeted subject areas, while also helping students develop clear and organised note-taking strategies.
