This is a fun activity to encourage students to learn new information from a variety of different modes (maps, books, internet, etc.). When a student learns information stated in one of the boxes, he or she is to write what was learned in the given space. For example, if a student learns about Abraham Lincoln, he or she is to write his name in the space provided in the box that says “Someone famous I read about.” This will encourage students to do their own, independent learning. If you choose to do so, provide prizes for students when they get a bingo and/or blackout. Three different bingo cards are provided. They have the same categories but are formatted differently to add variety and encourage healthy competition.
