Say What You Mean, Mean What You Say

This presentation may be used as a starter or a plenary activity in a English or literacy lesson. Students are presented with a statement, with a supporting illustration, but one word (clearly indicated) is not often used in everyday English. Students, with or without dictionary/Thesaurus (at the teacher’s discretion) choose the most appropriate alternative from a given list of 6. The presentation can be used interactively or as a pen & paper exercise. The presentation contains 20 challenges and 43 slides with hyperlinks embedded throughout.
