Explore the theme of ‘letting go’ with this lively, rhyming poem, that references everyday objects and situations that young people can relate to. The easy advice is quite ‘tongue-in-cheek’ as the poem concludes that ‘letting go’ of hurts, memories, relationships is not an easy thing to do after all. This could also be used to stimulate discussions in PSHCE, about how we can deal with negative emotions, as opposed to ‘stuffing them down’ as the poet describes. Items include a lesson plan, students’ work sheet, teacher’s answer sheet & Power Point.
