Developed as a KS3 resource, this SOW has the contextual detail of a GCSE unit of work. The lessons run chronologically through the play, but each lesson also focuses on a different theme, from the divine right of kings, to monarchical resposibilities, colonialism, witchcraft, punishment and patriarchy. An excellent unit of work for moving KS3 students on from writing simple P.E.E. paragraphs to more complex essays that focus on authorial message and political commentary.
