The Waterfall: RE/Art resource

This original watercolour painting of a waterfall is to create discussion in RE lessons for primary children.
The light behind the trees represents God and the water is the life he brings to everyone. The waterfall represents the different paths people take in their lives whilst the shades of water falling represent all types of people on their journey in life. Some paths in life hit rocks and are difficult to overcome, some paths in life flow towards the pool of life at the bottom of the waterfall and only encounter minor obstructions but each path is different and of different lengths - representing the different amounts of time we have on Earth. Along each water path there is the opportunity to pass through light but sometimes this will mean a change of direction. The shades of colour show the many types of beauty that can be found in everyone with God’s help.
