Bring the Viking Age to life with this engaging and curriculum-linked Upper Key Stage 2 assembly.
As a group of Year 5 and Year 6 pupils prepares for a school history assembly, a mysterious Viking longship appears, bringing Viking children, explorers, traders and storytellers from the past. Through a series of exciting encounters, pupils discover that the Vikings were far more than fierce raiders—they were also skilled craft workers, traders, explorers and settlers. Along the way, they learn to question stereotypes, compare different viewpoints and understand why history is rarely as simple as it first appears.
