This lesson was designed to help students to be able to cope with the unseen poetry question of the new examination. It explains the mark scheme and takes the students through a step by step way of approaching the poem and being able to respond to any poem. This lesson is based on the poem Brothers by Andrew Forster but the name of the poem is not mentioned until the very end. I used this lesson for an observation where the lesson was graded as outstanding.
