I created this quizz for my year 8 top set, to reinforce the vocabulary related to food. However, I think this might be more KS4 material. Anyway, it's great fun, kids love it and I hope you'll enjoy it too!

4 songs about racism with worksheet. The emphasis is on colloquial and slang language.

Compilation of different sources, all on the topic of racism in France. I have also uploaded the link to the radio report of the racist incident during a football match that goes with one of the activities.

Work on 2 songs about friendship. The first one, 'Les Copains d'abord', by Brassens, is available on YouTube. The second, by Bénabar is harder to find on the net so I downloaded it. In this lesson, I worked in particular on familiar and colloquial language. IB French B.

Each pupil has a card. Pupils should move around the classroom and describe their card to other pupils, until they find a person who has an identical card. This activity is great to get the kids talking, and it also develops their listening skills. They are also usually very excited when they have found their partner! This particular acitivity is related to daily routine, but can be adapted for virtually any topic and any class. Great game!

List of interesting idioms of more able students. They first need to work out the literal meaning of these phrases and then find out the meaning or an equivalent idiom in English. I matched this exercise to the topic Hobbies and Free Time, but of course it can go with any other topic.

The objective of this lesson is to be able to describe a typical day at school. The first activity revises telling the time as well as cardinal numbers and the interrogative determinant 'quel'. Includes speaking and writing activity.
