I have been a teacher for over 20 years - all the stuff I upload has been tried and tested in my classroom. I don't mind a discussion on Twitter too where I also share new resources. I now have a personal website: https://andylutwyche.com/

Save Our Satellite - Simultaneous Equations

Save Our Satellite - Simultaneous Equations: Trying to find a real life example of where we might solve simultaneous equations graphically I came up with this. Students have to plot to linear graphs and find the point of impact. You could bring in Pythagoras and find out if the two bodies were travelling at the same speed would they actually collide, but I wanted to keep the worksheet to one side of A4.

Cartoon Linear Graphs: Get from one character to their sidekick and tell name the line upon which they've just travelled in the graph. An attempt to make linear graphs a bit more interesting.

Ratio and MP3 Players - KS3 Worksheets

In these worksheets the various questions use how many songs you can get onto an MP3 player (1Gb = 250 songs) to look at ratio. Leads onto other questions involving fractions and percentages.

Supermarket Sweep Activity - KS3

This activity uses clues involving number facts and special numbers to find certain items in a supermarket. Some of the clues are easier than others, but it's a nice challenge and makes students aware of Fibonacci, square, cube and triangle numbers.

Ludwig von Terrible Mission -Activity & Worksheets

A KS3 resource activity with worksheets to be completed by students. This was an idea I had that actually came to fruition - it's based around a secret agent type mission. It involves deciphering codes, grid references, bearings, simplifying algebra, ordering fractions and sequences. I did a silly video to introduce it using some of my daughter's puppets. Hope you enjoy it, my classes certainly did.

Linear Graphs Cut, Match and Stick Activity - GCSE

This is a great GCSE activity in which students match each equation to its gradient, y-interceptor and the co-ordinate on it. I wrote this in order to get across the idea of y=mx+c plus the fact that it describes the link between the x and y co-ordinates.

Independent student revision activity. Solve the problems, unjumble the letters and plot my path around Europe. Great revison for number topics. Order of operations, finding fractions/percentages of an amount/quantity, equivalent ratios. SSM Shape geometry, calculaing area and perimeter. Statistics calculating averages.
