This is a short task designed for students to develop their skills in describing melody and melodic movement. A detailed list of key words linked to melody is included with full meanings. The resource contains two slides, one with the task and one with spaces for students to comment.

This is a four slide Powerpoint presentation which includes twenty-four audio clips of percussion instruments. Present the Powerpoint. Students can select a number between 1 - 24. Either select on your computer screen or this can be activated through an interactive board. Click on the number to hear the attached audio. Students are then asked to identify the audible clip. All audio clips are embedded within this Powerpoint. All answers on the final slide for your reference. I have used this as a starter with Key Stage 3 students to build aural recognition of percussion instruments. Enjoy!
